Yapeim launches Special Merdeka gold bars

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 11 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Islamic Economic Development Foundation (Yapeim) via Yapeim Gold Sdn Bhd today launched the 2020 Merdeka gold bars in conjunction with the National Day celebration this year.

Launched by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Seri Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri, the special edition gold bars each weighing one gram and priced at RM320.

Zulkifli said that with its latest product, Yapiem Gold has taken a step forward after facing the COVID-19 pandemic by strengthening the concept of Syariah-compliant gold ownership in the country.

He said that gold has become a popular and aggressive investment medium due to the increase in value from time to time and it was also certified as one of the safest investment mechanisms.

“Therefore, it is suitable as a silent saving or investment for the community because gold is known for its high rate of cash flow and suitable as a personal savings,” he said while launching the YaPEIM gold bars here today.

Meanwhile, Yapeim Gold Sdn Bhd managing director Zahrin Ibrahim said the gold bars could be ordered directly at Yapeim Gold or online at www.CMASA.my starting today.

“This 2020 Merdeka edition is a continuation of the frontliners special edition which was issued before," he said.
