DENGKIL, Sept 15 -- The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) will hold the Rukun Negara Roadshow as an annual event to invigorate and strengthen the appreciation of the Rukun Negara among Malaysians.
Bernama deputy editor-in-chief (News) Abdul Rahman Ahmad said the roadshow would be continued in the coming years to instil the spirit of the five principles of the Rukun Negara among the people following the encouraging response received from this year's inaugural programme.
“We want to organise this Rukun Negara roadshow and celebration yearly because the activities held this year have been a success. So we want to continue this next year and make it as one of Bernama's main programmes,” he told Bernama after the closing of the Rukun Negara 50th Anniversary Roadshow here, today.
The Rukun Negara 50th Anniversary Roadshow this year was organised by the Communications and Multimedia Ministry through Bernama in collaboration with the Ministry of National Unity. It began on Aug 24.
Abdul Rahman said the roadshow was held at 33 selected locations in 11 states, involving 15 libraries, two universities and 16 primary and secondary schools.
Among the activities held during the roadshow were pledge reading, video screenings, singing performances, also quizzes, poems, debates, essay writing and book reviews, as well as, distributing bookmarks and face masks to students.
Other activities organised by Bernama were Insta Challenge, Rukun Negara Hour, webinar, E-Treasure Hunt, a series of talk shows, documentaries and the Virtual Unity Ride 2020, all in conjunction with the 50th anniversary celebration of the Rukun Negara.
